Hercules' 11th Labor was to retrieve the Golden Apples of the Hesperides, a task requiring him to journey to the far west to find the garden where the apples, a wedding gift to Hera from Gaia, grew, guarded by nymphs (the Hesperides) and the hundred-headed hydra, Ladon, a feat requiring trickery, help from Atlas, and outsmarting the serpent to bring the divine fruit to King Eurystheus.
Hydras are multi headed mythical creatures. 2 of us = 2 brains behind the art. We don't feel like we relate to most humans, almost like a mythical creature.
The Labors represent trials of purification, artistic value, and penance.
